National Hat Day is observed on January 15th annually, and is a day dedicated to wearing a hat of the wearer’s choice and style. Whilst it is a generally unknown celebration, embracing Hat Day 2012 could present families and businesses with everything from the perfect mood-booster at the office after the Christmas and New Year celebrations, or even just the ideal opportunity to throw a fancy dress party.



Hat Day in the Workplace

For offices and retail stores, Hat Day can be an ideal way to encourage camaraderie between employees and boost spirits after the busy previous month. Alternatively, if the staff in a retail environment are all wearing hats on the January 15th, this is bound to get customers’ attention and breed interest.

Hat Day can even be used as a day dedicated to raising money for charity. Employees could come into work wearing a comical hat of their choice, and everyone who chooses to wear a hat donates a certain sum to a larger fund.

The fancy dress ideas are endless when it comes to Hat Day. Hats can accompany fancy dress outfits of all kinds and round-off costumes perfectly. Some outfits even depend on the wearer having a particular hat on for the overall look to be recognisable.
