Your teeth may become dull or discolored for many different reasons. Staining foods and drinks, tobacco and age are just a few of the causes that directly affect the brightness of your smile. The good news is that modern cosmetic dentistry provides many different options for whitening your teeth and bringing your smile to life. The Zoom Teeth Whitening System is one of the treatments we use here. This bleaching process is very effective and used by many to brighten their discolored tooth enamel. Here is a brief explanation of the process.

Is Zoom Whitening Right for You?

In order to determine if the Zoom in-office teeth whitening is right for you, we will first conduct a comprehensive examination. During this exam, we look at your teeth and gums to ensure your overall health and talk about your at-home oral hygiene and lifestyle in general. This will help you and your dentist figure out which whitening product or treatment plan is the best fit for your individual needs.

The Zoom Whitening System

Before the actual Zoom whitening session, we recommend you get a regular dental cleaning. The Zoom treatment starts with protecting your lips and gums which only leaves your teeth exposed. A hydrogen peroxide based gel is then applied directly to your teeth. The Zoom procedure uses a unique bleaching light with a infrared filter to minimize the amount of heat to which your teeth are exposed to. Once the light is in position, it will illuminate all of your teeth being treated. The entire process only takes an hour. After the treatment is over, we will apply a sensitivity-reducing fluoride paste to your teeth.

Post Treatment Guidelines

After your in-office Zoom teeth whitening procedure at your Dallas cosmetic dentistry office, you will be given a touch-up kit to take home. This will include custom-fit whitening trays and detailed instructions. We will also give you a list of stain-producing foods and beverages that should be used in moderation to maintain these great results!
