There are a lot of security companies, UK based and international. The world is not a particularly secure place, and demand for their services has grown greatly since the recession. Although in many countries the level of crime has not risen greatly the feeling amongst the business community, and much of the general population, is that it is only a matter of time.



This feeling is leading more people to review their current security systems and look to upgrade them.

New Business for Security Companies UK

Whilst much of the UK's security companies are getting new business from business owners a significant proportion is coming from homeowners too. People are now seeing the benefits of having alarm systems fitted to their properties. Being able to opt for fully monitored systems appeals to a lot of homeowners, as does the idea of being able to view their property remotely using CCTV hooked up to their alarm system.

In the event that the alarm sounds homeowners know that the alarm centre can see what is going on and determine whether to call the police. Footage from CCTV enable alarm systems is also proving useful for the police in establishing who is carrying out these crimes, so they like the new service being offered.

That is not to say that the majority of the new customers are homeowners. It is still businesses that make up the bulk of security companies UK market. In addition, a lot of firms are upgrading their existing systems, adding cameras and new forms of monitored alarm systems.

The stealing of plant and specialist machinery has grown. This has lead many companies to look at ways of adding alarms to specific pieces of plant. They have adapted their existing alarm systems to monitor all kinds of things, so owners know quickly if someone is interfering with their machinery or plant. If a piece of plant stops working an alarm can sound and a camera will let owners see if the reason for the stoppage is caused by someone trying to steal it.
